I brought a couple friends and family members to a small town gallery where some of my work was being displayed. A friend read my “artist bio” and said: “‘aims to build community’ that’s what you're doing!”. In the moment, my response was something like a sweet quick “ya thanks”, but I wasn’t fully convinced.
The next morning I’m sitting in a chair looking out the window watching the spring plants “spring” up and pondering when I first wrote my bio/mission statement. The Lord opened my eyes again to the beauty of this gift called “art”. And the power it has to bring people together.

It doesn't surprise me that this art beauty draws people in. It’s much like creation… We have this miraculous Creator who painted the world into existence and I don’t know about you, but I just want to be in it! There are moments where I want the intimacy of being alone in His handiwork, similar to working on a painting while listening to good music. But man, when you are out there with others to experience the joys of creation together…it amplifies the beauty of His design!
The bio at the gallery:
Adrianna Taylor has always sought after any opportunity to be involved and build community. Specifically anything that involved the arts, such as clay and art festivals, local fundraisers and exhibitions to bring people together. Adrianna is a mixed media artist, primarily working in painting, fibers and ceramics. Her work focuses on the intentionality and handiwork of creation and the Creator through marks, layers, color, light, metaphor, poetry, and parables.
Following her graduation from Alfred University in 2022, with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in Art History, she returned home to Virginia. There she works in a home studio and started her own business Valley Arts LLC and helps run Blue Ridge Pottery, where she makes functional stoneware. Using her talents and connections she aims to build a community surrounded by creativity.
I have many testimonies of how the Lord has brought people together, moved people's hearts, and planted seeds just because a bunch of pretty paintings were on a wall.
So... “to be continued”!
